Gotta keep rollin'

We could have been riding with Rick, but we hated to spoil that resort-look

... a long and winding road (a.k.a. bike path)

Water, water everywhere

Joan, you just looked way too comfortable snoozing in that floatie ---
CANNONBALL x 3!

Down by the sea

Tom, WHAT are you reading .... Us magazine?
Sun, Surf, and Sand ...

If you're going to spend the day at the beach, you've gotta have the gear.

Tuesday...and then there were 8:(

The Milnes last day....bummer!  The O's, the Cho's, the A's and the Mi's rode our bikes to Skillets (those Mc's aren't morning people) for a wonderful breakfast.  We returned to say our goodbye's to the Milnes and Rick and Shaun headed to the pool while the rest went to a wine tasting.  We gathered back for Rick and Pat's American Meal...burgers and dogs, red potatos and beans~  They did a great job!!!  After dinner was another trip to the beach where again not a soul could be found and relaxed under the full moon once again:)

Monday night at the beach....

Really...no words can explain....

Monday Evening....

After drinks on the beach and dinner we returned to the beach for a moonlight walk.  The full moon lit up the beach and there wasn't a soul except us on the beach....At times we wonder if we don't have this entire plantation to ourselves!  After a few handstands, cart wheels and sand angels...Joan, Cathy and Shaun left early for a late night swim in the pool.....the hooting of an owl (or Pat) we aren't sure who was in the bushes....we made our way back to the condo and joined up with the rest of the group.

Monday.....

Everyone has decided ... we love Hilton Head!  We started the morning with everyone doing their own thing... the O's went to a coffee shop, the Milnes went for a bike ride, the Arnetts went for a bike ride and played some tennis (over achievers), the McKinneys hung out at the condo and the Cho's went for a bike ride and breakfast.

Donovan, Joan, Cathy and Tom went for a bike ride...20 miles ...  that's their story and they are sticking to it!

The day continued at the pool...people swam, napped and relaxed....Rick continued his triathlon of the day...swimming in the ocean, running, a bike ride and tennis....I guess that is a quadathlon????

Joan and Tom were our cooks for the evening and started with Happy Hour on the beach with PJOD's cosmos.  We had a great time and got some wonderful pictures and ohhh... Joanie....revealing SC's polka dots on the beach...oh my!

On the way back to the condo...Shaun, Cathy and Joan stopped on the golf course to cool off....cross that one off the bucket list!

Dinner, which was delicious.. wild rice and a delicious melody of vegetables was wonderful.  The best part...the reminder that our beautiful children were the catalyst for these friendships.  So thankful for another day with great friends!

This is our story and we're sticking with it....

Ok - so Sunday was a beautiful day in Hilton Head; sunny, warm (but perfect in the shade)... some of us went to the beach (and some of us didn't use sunscreen...and some of us hurt!) and some of us went to the pool. We rode bikes and walked and all met back for the evening.

And here's our story: We went to "early bird dinner" to get the bargains on food at Marley's and came home to play "name that tune" for two hours... Uh-huh. That's the story.

theme song

This champagne shore washing over me
It's a sweet sweet life living by the salty sea
One day you could be as lost as me
Change you're geography
Maybe you might be

Knee deep in the water somewhere
Got the blue sky breeze blowing wind through my hair
Only worry in the world is the tide gonna reach my chair
Sunrise there's a fire in the sky
Never been so happy
Never felt so high
And I think I might have found me my own kind of paradise

Come on in the water it's nice
Find yourself a little slice
Grab a backpack realize
You never know until you try
When you lose yourself
You find the key to paradise
This is great!! Nice work Shaun!! Hey Should the Milnes' bring some folding chairs...It looks like the dining room table is short a few.

Highly Recommended. You can order the bikes now and they will have them delivered to the condo... $20-$22/week - they also have beach items for rent... xoxoxo

Directions to the Condo

Columbus to Hodge Podge Lodge on Hilton Head Island

I-270 to route 33 east. Stay on 33 until it intersects I-77 near Ripley WV. Take I-77 south until it

ends on the SE side of Columbia SC, where it merges into I-26 east. Take I-26 50 miles east

until it intersects I-95. Take I-95 south 78 miles, and then take exit 8, which is marked for Hilton

Head. This is route 278, which will take you into Hilton Head. You'll reach the bridge for Hilton

Head approximately 20 miles after turning onto route 278. Two miles after getting onto the island,

take the Cross Island Parkway (or something named like that), which will by-pass a lot of traffic

and get you over to the Hodge Podge Lodge quicker. After paying the $1 toll, proceed about 1.5

miles until you arrive at a traffic circle. Enter the traffic circle from the left lane and go 270

degrees or 3/4 around the circle, then exit onto Hilton Parkway (278 business route). Turn right at the third light (less than a mile), which is the entry to Shipyard Plantation, and stop at the guard

gate to pick up your pass. Proceed 1/2 mile until you arrive at small circle. Go 180 degrees

(halfway) around the circle and turn into the EVIAN development. Go 2/10 mile, take a left, go

another 2/10 mile, then take a right. Condo #184 (aka Hodge Podge Lodge) is another 2/10 mile

at the end of the cul-de-sac. There are small signs that point you to the condo numbers once you

turn into EVIAN. DRIVE time is 11 hours. That is going 7-10 miles over the speed limit, normal

traffic, and minimal potty breaks, preferably when stopping for gas. Any stops for meals must be

added to that time.
